Natural and sustainable building methods, materials, and technology have been used in our designs, including: adobe (mud brick); cob; rammed earth; stone; straw bale; sandbags and earth-bags; lime and gypsum plaster, as well as more conventional types, such as clay brick, masonry, and timber frame.
Natural energy systems including: passive and active solar heating and cooling; solar water heating; photovoltaic electricity; geothermal energy; rainwater harvesting; grey water recycling; waterless/composting toilets have been incorporated where appropriate.
